Home Learning
Hello Year 5,
This week, as it is the last week of the Summer term, and your last week in Year 5, we are doing something slightly
different. Every year group will be taking part in a final school project, using the Henry Matisse painting: The Painter's Family. This picture will be used as a stimulus for activities provided within the learning menus for each year group.
In the file section below you will find each year group's overview of their activities for the Take One Picture project, with ten tasks set out for each year group.
All year groups have the same end aim: for each child to produce a piece of work of their own inspired by 'The Painter's Family- Henri Matisse. The project provides a vehicle for art to bring us all closer together at a time when we are all forced to stay apart.
Please send photos of your work to Class Dojo, so that we can see what you have been doing.
If you are enjoying the project and want to carry out activities from another year group, please look at other class pages for more ideas.
I look forward to seeing your work!
Mrs Whittaker

This week we are learning more challenge words. These words can be tricky, try to think of some ways to remember them: you could make a mnemonic or say them in your spelling voice.

This week is Holy Week. Please take time to read the Easter story:
Dear parents,
Welcome back to school, I hope you all had an enjoyable summer holiday. I am very excited to be working with your children again and also meeting new class members. Miss Euston will be teaching the children on Tuesday mornings until playtime and on Wednesday afternoons. Mrs Stanganini will be teaching the children on Thursday afternoons. We are also very lucky to have Mrs Wadsworth supporting the children with their learning. I look forward to seeing you at our Meet the Teacher and Parent Meetings and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns or queries.
Mrs Whittaker
