Formation/ Training

Maria Hall Training

Our GIFT CARITAS Ambassadors recently took part in a special formation session with Maria Hall, an experienced national consultant in Liturgy, Religious Education, and Pastoral Music. Maria worked with the pupils to deepen their understanding of our school’s Catholic Mission and the importance of prayer and liturgy in shaping our community.

During the training, the Ambassadors explored how to:

  • Plan and structure moments of prayer and liturgy

  • Choose Scripture, write prayers, and prepare reflections

  • Use symbols and actions to help others engage in worship

  • Lead prayer confidently and reverently

Maria encouraged the children to think about how their role supports the spiritual life of the school and how they can help others encounter God through thoughtful, well‑prepared worship.

After their training, the Ambassadors worked together to design their own Prayer and Liturgy. They selected readings, wrote prayers, and prepared a meaningful act of worship which they then led during a whole‑school assembly. Their confidence, teamwork, and reverence were a wonderful example of faith in action.

We are incredibly proud of our GIFT CARITAS Ambassadors and look forward to seeing them continue to inspire and support our school community throughout the year.

CARITAS Training with Kath Ainsley

Our GIFT CARITAS Ambassadors took part in a special training session led by Kath Ainsley. This inspiring opportunity helped them deepen their understanding of how to put Catholic Social Teaching into action. With fresh insight and renewed enthusiasm, our ambassadors are now well‑equipped to support their peers in planning and leading charitable initiatives across the school. Their commitment will help our whole community to live out love, compassion, and justice. As Pope Francis reminds us, “A little bit of mercy makes the world less cold and more just.”

Comissioning Mass at Church

Each year, our GIFT CARITAS Ambassadors attend a special service at church to be formally commissioned into their role alongside pupils from our cluster schools. Fr. Martin leads the celebration, speaking to the ambassadors about the importance of their mission and the responsibility they carry in serving others. This moment marks the beginning of their commitment to living out the values of faith, compassion, and service within our school community.
