Pentecost Day

Each year, our school marks Pentecost Day with a joyful celebration of the Church’s birthday. The day begins with Mass, after which the children take part in party‑themed activities such as bouncy castles and ice‑cream to reflect the joy of the Holy Spirit. Our GIFT Team helps to lead and run the day, guiding pupils through the celebrations and ensuring the focus remains on the meaning of Pentecost. In the afternoon, the whole school gathers in the Prayer Garden for a Celebration of the Word led by the GIFT Team, complete with a birthday cake to mark this special moment in the life of the Church.

May Procession - Crowning of Mary

Each year, our GIFT Team helps to organise and lead our May Procession in honour of Our Lady. They coordinate a whole‑school flower donation so that every child has a flower to place before Mary, creating a beautiful display of devotion. The team prepares a crown of fresh flowers, leads the procession to the Prayer Garden, and delivers a whole‑school Celebration of the Word for the Crowning of Mary. Their leadership ensures this annual tradition remains a joyful and prayerful moment for our entire school community.

Pope Francis Memorial

During the nine day novena following the death of Pope Francis, our GIFT Team led the whole school community in prayers, Celebrations of the Word, and thoughtful reflections. They created a beautiful memorial book filled with prayers and messages from pupils and staff, which they later presented to the parish during the evening Memorial Mass at church.

The children also chose, entirely of their own initiative, to plant a tree in memory of Pope Francis in our Prayer Garden. They planned and led a moving Celebration of the Word as part of the planting, reminding us of our call to care for creation and one another — a powerful link to Catholic Social Teaching and Pope Francis’ message in Laudato Si’.
