Stewardship

Meet our mascot for Stewardship, Sofia the Sloth, who reminds us to take care of
God's gifts. Below are some of the ways we uphold this principle at Holy Cross and
All Saints:

  • At Holy Cross and All Saints, we teach children that caring for God’s world is a responsibility we all share. Our Laudato Si’ Team leads the way, encouraging the whole school to protect the environment through recycling, reducing waste, and making thoughtful choices that care for our common home.

  • Pupils take part in gardening, planting, and looking after our outdoor spaces, helping to create areas where nature can flourish. Activities such as litter‑picking, Earth Day projects, and maintaining the Prayer Garden show children that small actions make a big difference.

  • Across the curriculum, children learn about the beauty and fragility of creation. In Science and Geography, they explore habitats, climate, and sustainability, while in Art they use natural or recycled materials to reflect the wonder of the world around them.

  • Worship and prayer also deepen our commitment to stewardship. Children write prayers for the earth, reflect on Pope Francis’ message in Laudato Si’, and consider how their choices can help protect people and the planet.
