As Special Friends, we care for and guide our Reception buddies with kindness, patience, and love, helping them to feel safe, happy, and welcomed into our Catholic school family.

Every child in Reception is paired with a caring Year 6 Special Friend, forming a bond that grows throughout the year. These older pupils visit regularly to read together, join in celebrations such as World Book Day, and simply spend time playing and talking to help develop the younger children’s confidence, communication, and sense of belonging. This partnership reflects our Catholic values of service, compassion, and community, giving our oldest pupils the chance to act as role models while our youngest children feel supported, welcomed, and loved as part of our school family.
