Remote Learning

Remote Learning Guidance
In the event that remote learning becomes necessary, our school remains committed to providing a high-quality education rooted in our Catholic values. Parents and children will be informed promptly through email and our school communication app. All learning activities, daily timetables, and resources will be shared via Google Education Suite, with Google Classroom as our main platform for assignments and communication. Live lessons will take place through Google Meet, ensuring children can interact with their teachers and classmates. We also make use of trusted educational resources such as Oak National Academy, BBC Tiny Happy People, and BBC Bitesize to support learning across the curriculum. If you experience any difficulties accessing Google Classroom, live sessions, or these resources, please contact the school office for support.

Google Classroom

To join a Google Classroom, you can use a class code, an email invitation, or a direct class link. If you have a class code, go to classroom.google.com, click the plus sign, select "Join class," and enter the code. If you received an email invitation, click the "Join" button within the email. Alternatively, clicking a direct class link will automatically enrol you.

Joining with a class code

  • Go to classroom.google.com.
  • Click the plus sign (+) in the top-right corner.
  • Select "Join class".
  • Enter the class code provided by the teacher.
  • Click "Join".

Joining with an email invitation

Important considerations

  • Open your email and find the invitation from the teacher.
  • Click the "Join" option directly in the email.

Alternatively, log in to Google Classroom, and you may see a card for the class on your dashboard with a "Join" button.

  • Some teachers may have a specific method for inviting parents, so check for any specific instructions they've provided.
  • Make sure you are logged in to the correct Google account, as the process is different for students and parents. All children have a school email to log into Google which is their first initial.surname@holycrossandallsaints.co.uk
  • To join a video class, look for the video icon in your class or the "Join a Video Meeting" tab once you are in the class.
