Our GIFT Team visit younger classes throughout the year to support and enrich Celebrations of the Word. They assist teachers, model good practice, and deliver their own child‑led worship sessions. During Lent, this leadership becomes a weekly commitment, with the GIFT Team visiting a different class each week to plan and lead a Celebration of the Word. This not only strengthens the prayer life of the school but also helps the children grow in confidence, responsibility, and their understanding of what it means to be young leaders of faith.
Each member of our GIFT Team is assigned a class in EYFS or Key Stage 1 to support throughout the year. This role includes accompanying the younger children to Praise Assembly, sitting with them, and modelling how to participate reverently in prayer and worship. By building these relationships, the GIFT Team help our youngest pupils grow in confidence, understand the routines of Collective Worship, and develop a sense of belonging within our prayerful school community.
During the year, especially in October for the Month of the Rosary, our GIFT Team spend time with the children in EYFS over lunchtime to help them grow in their understanding of prayer. They teach and pray simple traditional prayers with them, such as the Hail Mary, and lead practical, hands‑on activities like making their own Rosary beads. These visits help our youngest pupils develop early prayer skills in a gentle, engaging way, while also strengthening relationships between older and younger children across the school.
