Fundraising/ Charity

Toy Sale

Our GIFT Team also organise and lead our annual Christmas Toy Sale, a much‑loved event
where families are encouraged to donate pre‑loved toys. These are then sold in the school hall for small donations, with all proceeds given to CARITAS, our local Catholic charity. This initiative not only supports CARITAS in its mission to serve those most in need, but also helps our own families by offering affordable Christmas gifts during what can be a financially challenging time. The Toy Sale is a practical expression of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the principles of Solidarity, Option for the Poor, and Care for God’s Creation, as we come together as a community to share resources, reduce waste, and ensure that every child can experience the joy of Christmas.

Christmas Jumper Day

Our GIFT Team planned and organise our annual Christmas Jumper Day each day, this year raising over £300 for our parish’s Christmas charity, CAFOD. By combining fun with purposeful action, the children live out key principles of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly Solidarity and the Option for the Poor, making a real difference both within our parish and the wider world.

Loaves and Fishes Collection

Every year, our GIFT Team organise and lead a whole‑school Advent food collection in support of the local homeless charity Loaves and Fishes. This annual act of service helps pupils live out the true meaning of Advent—bringing hope, compassion, and practical support to those most in need within our community. Through this work, the children deepen their understanding of Catholic Social Teaching, especially the principles of Human Dignity, Solidarity, and the Option for the Poor, as they put their faith into action in a tangible and meaningful way.

Mary's Meal Fundraising 2025

Every Lent, as we focus our efforts on giving, our Chaplains choose a charity to support through fundraising. Last year, after welcoming a visitor from Mary’s Meals into school, the Chaplains felt inspired to raise money for this charity and chose it as their Lenten focus. They planned and organised a highly successful Easter Raffle, which was warmly supported by our school community and raised over £500 for Mary’s Meals. Through this project, the children demonstrated leadership, compassion, and a strong commitment to putting their faith into action during the season of Lent.

Big Lent Walk 2025

Our Chaplains helped to plan and lead the opening liturgy for our CAFOD Big Lent Walk, a special event that brought our whole school community together in prayer and action. Their leadership set a reflective and purposeful tone for the day, reminding us of the importance of walking in solidarity with those living in poverty. Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our families, the Big Lent Walk raised over £1,200 for CAFOD, making a significant contribution to their vital work around the world.
