Welcome

Year 3/4 - Miss Howarth

Welcome to Y3/4!

Hello and welcome to Y3/4!

I hope that your children are all enjoying being back at school and are looking forward to the exciting challenges that Year 3/4 has to offer. I have been so impressed by how well they have all settled back into school this week; they have quickly adapted to their new routines and have already produced lots of amazing work. It is clear that they have all had lots of amazing learning opportunities at home over lock down, so thank you for this!

Please have a look at our class welcome letter and curriculum map for further information about our daily routines and what we will be learning this year.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to come and speak to me at school.

Kind regards,

Miss Howarth

Home Learning

Hello Year 3,

This week, as it is the last week of the Summer term, and your last week in Year 3, we are doing something slightly different. Every year group will be taking part in a final school project, using the Henry Matisse painting: The Painter's Family. This picture will be used as a stimulus for activities provided within the learning menus for each year group.

In the file section below you will find each year group's overview of their activities for the Take One Picture project, with ten tasks set out for each year group.

All year groups have the same end aim: for each child to produce a piece of work of their own inspired by 'The Painter's Family- Henri Matisse. The project provides a vehicle for art to bring us all closer together at a time when we are all forced to stay apart.

Please send photos of your work to Class Dojo, so that we can see what you have been doing.

If you are enjoying the project and want to carry out activities from another year group, please look at other class pages for more ideas.

We look forward to seeing your work!

Miss Howarth and Mrs Royle

Home Learning - 12.06.20

Hello!

Still image for this video

Hello Y3,

Please watch the above video.

As you heard in the video, we have made some exciting changes to your home learning this week. From Monday, you will be able to earn dojo points from home! Most activities on your learning menu will be worth 5 dojos; all you need to do is send us a picture of your completed work and we will add on your dojos. If you're completing MyMaths or Reading Planet activities, you don't need to send us a photo as we will login and see what you've completed.

In our class Zoom on Friday afternoon, we will host our own celebration assembly for you. Here we will award prizes for the person with the most dojo points and for anybody, who has earned more than 100 points! Obviously, we can't let you come into school to collect a prize, so we will post prizes home.

We can't wait to see your work next week - seeing what you're up to at home really makes us smile!

Take care,

Miss Howarth and Mrs Royle

Week 9 - 08/06/20

Please find this week's work below. We hope you enjoy the tasks we have set. We love seeing your work, so please try to send us photos of your work if possible.

Have a lovely week,

Home Learning

Over the period of our school's closure, it is essential that your child keeps up with their learning to ensure that they continue to make progress and retain everything they have worked so hard on this year. On this page, we have attached work for your child to complete whilst we are closed. We have grouped the work by subject. This work is in addition to the learning grid your child has been sent home with (this grid can also be found as an attachment below).

Your child will be sent home with a blank exercise book to complete the work in, however, if they wish to complete it electronically or on their own paper, they are more than welcome to do so. We have also provided links to our home learning apps, which your child has been given their logins for.

This page will be updated with new work every week. Please check on a Monday morning to find new work for your child.

We will be available to contact over Class Dojo throughout our school's closure. If you have any questions, concerns or would just like some support with your child's learning, please contact us and we will be more than happy to help. You are also welcome to send photos of your child completing the work - we would love to see them!

Please take care over the next few weeks and we look forward to seeing you and your child back at school soon.

 Many thanks as always,

Miss Howarth and Mrs Royle
