PE and Sport Premium

The aims of PE and Sport at Holy Cross and All Saints RC Primary.

An effective PE curriculum is broad and balanced and allows for childhood health benefits of physical activity to be transferred into potential learned behaviours in later life.

A rich PE curriculum allows pupils to develop fundamental motor skills that in turn develop competence, confidence and enjoyment in a safe and successful environment over a wide range of sports and physical activities. The curriculum promotes opportunities for children to learn valuable lessons around responsibility, resilience, self-discipline; leading to children who are confident in solving problems and understand the importance of teamwork and self-development through enhanced creativity, cooperation and leadership.

Please read the information below which gives details of our PE and Sport Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

In 2016-17, 28/ 30 pupils in Year 6 had reached the NC requirement to swim at least 25m competently, confidently and proficiently.

5 Extra Years

This is an important message regarding the health and well-being of children in this generation. With current technology levels advancing and children becoming more accustomed to and choosing to spend time on technological devices; it is important that we as a school promote the need for a healthy and active lifestyle.

Today's kids are the first generation with a shorter life expectancy than their parents. What would you do with five more years?
