Year 1 and 2 2018-2019
Hello and welcome to Year 1 and 2. I hope that you have had a great summer break and are ready for the new, exciting challenges that Year 1 and 2 have to offer.
The children have settled in really well this week to our wonderful new Key Stage 1 department and they have been working really hard to develop their growth mindset by trying lots of new challenges.
Please have a look at our class welcome letter and curriculum map for further information about our daily routines and what we will be learning this year.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to come and speak to me at school.
I look forward to meeting you at our 'meet the teacher' meeting on Wednesday 12th September at 2.45pm. If you can't make the meeting I will post the information on this page.
Nocturnal animals come to visit
This week Lyndsay from Animals Take Over came into school to show us some of her nocturnal animals. We met a millipede, a ferret, a tree frog, a field mouse, a scorpion, a tarantula and an owl. The children were very excited and also very brave, stroking and holding some of the animals.
We had fun dressing up on World Book Day.
We have learned about the Great Fire of London. We made models of houses and then we burned them down on the playground to re-enact the fire.
